Axel Springer SE is a media company headquartered in Berlin. It publishes Bild and Die Welt in Germany and bought Politico in 2021 for more than $1 billion. In September 2024 the company agreed to split: the media titles stay with Döpfner and Friede Springer as a private company, while KKR and CPP Investments take majority stakes in the classifieds businesses such as StepStone and Aviv.
