> Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held talks in New Delhi, setting a goal of doubling bilateral trade by 2030 and launching a start-up partnership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on 22 October, during Tusk's official visit to India from 21 to 23 October. They reviewed the Strategic Partnership that was set up during Modi's 2024 visit to Poland, and discussed trade and investment, defence and space, nuclear energy and critical minerals. [1][2]

The two sides aim to double bilateral trade by 2030, said Sibi George, Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs; current trade is about US$6.3 billion and Indian investment in Poland is estimated at more than US$3 billion. Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski said commercial exchanges "will at least double" by 2030. [1][2]

Modi said the countries agreed to set up an India-Poland StartUp Bridge and hold technology hackathons for young people, and that 30 March, the anniversary of diplomatic ties, will be marked each year as Poland-India Partnership Day. Memoranda of understanding were exchanged before the joint press meet, and the sides are finalising agreements on classified information, critical minerals, archives, culture, science and higher education. [1][2]

Modi said the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement had made the opportunities "even broader", and Tusk said he was proud to call Modi his friend. Tusk, travelling with a large business delegation, was due in Bengaluru on 23 October to meet IT and space sector leaders. [1][2]
